Description

  Aree tematiche Artistic
Cultural interest evaluation The revolution of the humanistic thinking is fulfilled with the construction of a new way of looking at the beliefs of a genius in comparison with his belonging to his time. This happened in the musical field  to an unknown person Giovanni Maria Trabaci (born in 1575 in Montepeloso, now Irsina, Province of Basilicata), when in 1614 he became the master of the Chapel of the royal palace of Naples, recently built at the residence of the Viceroy of Spain, interrupting a long tradition of Flemish music, because the conceptualism of the counterpoint of ars nova was not popular in Italy anymore, both in Venetian and Roman schools, as well as in Naples and Florence
Context Recovering and constituting a cultural network in a choral commitment aimed to make a strong contribution to the enhancement of the historical and artistic heritage and achieving the economic well-being of the whole community through the intangibility of cultural property. Project involving researchers such as Cosimo Damiano Fonseca, Academician of Lincei, founder of the University of Basilicata, director of the "San Pietro a Majella" conservatory in Naples, Elsa Evangelista, and the Thomasorganist of Thomaschirche in Leipzig, Joahnn's election city, Sebastian Bach and Ulrich Boheme. Not less important is the trust of Rocco Brancati from Potenza and of Misercs Grau, who was rector of the Pontifical Institute of the Sacred Music of the Vatican, successor to Pier Luigi da Palestrina in the Pontifical Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome.
Description of the managment mode

The opening of the Festival della passione will be accompanied by the presentation of the publication - in a modern musical key - of the passion narrated in the Gospel of Matthew, before the four Passionem DN Jesu Christi secundum Matthaeum, Marcum, Lucam et Iohannem [by] Iohannes Maria Trabacius, book In two books printed in Naples in 1634. At the same time as the concerts of great importance here are shown, Scientific Director Dinko Fabris, President of the International Association of Musicology, will be entrusted with the coordination (thanks to the contributions of the major American, British,German and Italian researchers) of an international conference investigating the artistic remains of the leading musicians of the Province of Basilicata, which are:

- Carlo Gesualdo from Venosa, the best madrigalist , according to the authoritative opinion expressed by Igor Stravinskj;
- Giovanni Maria Trabaci, inventor of the musical genre that accompanies the Passions;
- Marc'Antonio Mazzone from Miglionico, tutor of Luigi Gonzaga at the Renaissance court of the Gonzaga in Mantua;
- Gregorio Strozzi of Sanseverino Lucano, author of the Capricci for sonar cymbals, and organs;
- Attanasio da Pisticci, an unreleased composer and recently popular thanks to the research of those who subscribe this project;
- Egidio Romualdo Duni, a  "parisian" composer from Matera.
After the collection of the various interventions, the publication of the acts of the conference will follow.

Significant features Trabaci is the only musician in his genre who invented the genre of the Passion in Music.He is the precursor of that great musical genre that finds its apex in the Passions according to John and according to Matthew of Bach. To find a logic continuity  in Arvo Paert and Ligeti.
